Drama

Welcome to The Ravensbourne School Drama Department!

The Drama department aims to raise student’s awareness of a wide range of theatre genres by providing every single student with the opportunity to devise, perform and watch a variety of theatre styles.

Students demonstrate a broad range spectrum of Drama capabilities form the highly experienced to the very inexperienced. Drama is taught at Key Stage 3 as part of the Creative Arts rotation. Students in Year 7 and 8 have 500 minutes worth of lessons over the two-week timetable. Students in Year 9 have 300 minutes worth of lessons over the two-week timetable and are on a rotation every half term with Music and Dance.

At The Ravensbourne School, Drama is an important part of the curriculum and students are able to explore their dramatic creativity from Year 7 all the way through to Year 13. Students learn about a variety of different plays and drama techniques, as well as having a chance to devise their own work. They are given the opportunity to take part in extra curricular activities such as drama club and TRS’s widely anticipated yearly school production.
